1972 Triumph Stag
General Information
The Stag started as a styling experiment cut & shaped from a 63/64 pre-production triumph 2000 Saloon styled by Giovanni Michelotti, his agreement was if Harry Webster (Director of engineering at Triumph) liked the concept Triumph could use the prototype as the basis for a new model , Webster loved the design and took the prototype back to England. The end result a 2 door drop-head convertible, the Triumph Stag was born.

History Report
This rather charming Stag has a huge history file, having been in the same ownership for the past 25 years or so, the owner obviously cherished this car and has treated it over the years to all that it required and thankfully stored all or most of the receipts. Over the past 23 years this Stag has received a complete ground up restoration with every aspects of the vehicle being treated at a cost of close to £25,000. This extensive schedule of work is detailed below. Together with a large box of receipts there is a collection of photographs detailing the 1997 bodywork repairs and re-paint.

Since arriving at Memory Lane Classics we have added to the above expenditure by welding in a small panel to the bottom of the N/S front wing, replacing some of the dash walnut trim, completely removing and polishing all the chrome-work and completely repainting the whole car in its original colour of pimento red and carrying out a full service.
This beautiful Triumph Stag is absolutely stunning and drives like a dream. It carries a current MOT until 19th August 2020, the speedometer was zeroed at the time of the restoration and engine rebuild and is currently displaying 14074, the previous MOT as at 20th August 2019 showed the mileage at 14043 an increase of 31miles over the past 6months or so. Since the restoration this Stag has covered an average of approximately 600 miles per year.
